Oil in distributor follow-up

Dan,
I'll be curious to see what you find. I have the same problem on my car
with a good Crankcase vent hose, and even a new distributor. I also thought
about the "blow-by" possiblity, but it seemed a pretty extreme way to solve
the problem.

Thanks for the comments about the crankcase vent hose. I replaced it about
2,000 miles ago, because it was in terrible shape. I am guessing the oil
had accumulated over quite a span of time, unbeknowst to me. Maybe that
problem is already fixed. Is there any other likely cause of poor venting?
Obviously a lot of blow-by could overcome the vent system, but it would
probably need to be pretty bad.
