Thanks Scott. I'll know soon, as I'm installing a new tank (and cap for 
good measure) today. FWIW, the tank that came in our cars has been 
superceded by a new PN the dealer carries. Wouldn't surprise me if it's 
just so Audi can charge more $, as it is 12% more expensive. The 
original tank is now "special order" and I decided $10 today was 
preferable waiting two days for the original.
Like the Elephant's Child, I'm filled with "satiable curtiousity".
