Replacing Front Pads UFO's

Found some great step by step instructions on quattro123.com and chris millers sight on how to replace pads & calipers on the rear but nothing regarding the fronts.
Anyone have step by step instructions/what to look out for/necessary tools before starting regarding the front pads.  Have UFO's, calipers are still in good shape, just got new mintex reds and new sensors.
I have a rebuilt front half shaft going in and need to do the front pads while I have the wheels off.  Car just hit 150k - anything else I should do (control arm bushings, brake lines, etc.?)
