intermittent boost

Why would I have intermittent boost?  I see 1.5, 1.6 routinely on
acceleration and then I don't in the same circumstance.  Another MFTS
failure?  It's only 8-9 mos old.  Another bypass valve failure?  It's only
4-5 mos old.   All the other plumbing is new last summer too. Yesterday
a.m., when I started the car to idle while I brushed off the snow, when I
got in I noticed it was running above 1k rpm.  Always before, the idle was
8-900.  Connected?
