Scratched Sunroof

My sunroof exterior paint is scratched from retracting.  Scratch (actually many scratches) is superficial but visible, about 3/4 inch wide and a few inches long beginning at the trailing (rear) edge of sunroof and ending near the sunroof middle.  Initial inspection doesn't reveal source.  Plan to remove sunroof and inspect retraction space this weekend.
Didn't find anything online/ archives.  Any BTDT re. scratch source?
