I had an '89 200 that was a pile of trouble. It couldn't
go 2 months without something expensive (is anything Audi
inexpensive?) needling repair.  My '94 100 S Avant, while
not an S6, does have the same body and most of the same
electrics, and has been Toyota-like reliable in comparison.

I'd upgrade to the '95.  My 2 cents.
