Derek, Cutting the end off the hose is deffinatly an option but; IME, not
really the best one. Hoses are inexpensive enough that it won't hurt to put
a new one on. If the hose is bleeding out the ends it will probably fail
soon, the rubber is not porous and should not let any fluid out. It is a
false economy to patch a problem instead of fix it, it will in most cases
end up costing more in the long run.
I work in fleet maintenence and alot of the work we do is preventative
maintenence, it saves alot in the long run when we catch a thin brake pad or
a frayed serp belt before they fail and trash more than just the one part.
Bernie, PM is not just thinning a wallet, it can save a major problem in the
future. Changing oil is really cheap insurance and a good way to check on
the health of the engine. DFI if IAB is just not a good philosiphy to live
by in a car as old as ours and should not be pushed on a public forum.
