Oil pan detrius

HHmmm, second suggestion here.  I have not had the valve cover off this car, 
but have on my twin 200 20v avant and there was no cam cover, partial or 
otherwise?  Of course if there ever was and these are pieces, how did they 
get in the pan?  These are not microscopic bit!
