power steering pump replacement aftermath

hello,

Just finished replacing my power steering pump
went for a test drive and noticed that the steering feels less power 
assisted
the fluid levels are good

this was my first time doing something like this
did I mess something up? any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated
