Fuel Leak

Michael,
The complete replacement of that high-pressure fuel line needn't be 
done with an "Audi replacement" part-- nor does it need to to be 
"splice repair". A proper steel line with the required compression 
fittings can be easily fabricated by a competent shop or even DIY. 
So, I'm not sure what you consider "good" about the temporary 
repair--other than being able to save  a very small amount of 
$$$--but with the risk of further leaks from an old, corroded line.
