Avant sizes

No. The C4 body (92-93+) body is narrower than the 200.

It should -- the same 20V engine went into the urS4/S6, which
uses the C4 body.  Physically, the 100 takes a V6, which s/b 
wider than the 200 I-5 turbo engine (although the turbo and 
its plumbing may negate that advantage). When German Car 
Connection puts a manual transmission into an automatic V8, 
it requires some adjustment of sheetmetal (cutting and welding, 
rather than banging out with a hammer).  I suspect the same 
would be true of an auto-to-manual conversion in the C4. Maybe 
someone with the family album could verify differences in 
sheet metal between an auto and manual transmission car.

I'd say it is do-able, but I'm not sure it would be worth
the effort.  FWIW, I know where you can by a 1995 S6 Avant, 
giving you the genuine item, for onlly $11K. I'd tell you 
where it is, but I want it for myself. :)
