How about the hose that runs form the back of the intake manifold to the 
Turbo Bypass Valve. It frequently cracks with age under the heat shield on 
the passenger side of the engine allowing the bypass valve to open. It can 
also get crimped where it comes out of the intake manifold and passes over 
that little bracket.

It's fairly easy to build a leak checker using an ABS end cap and a truck 
tire valve. Here's a set of pics of one I built - ignore the part about 
pressurizing to 20+ PSI  - 10-15 is safer and any leaks become obvious.
