coolant leak to timing belt job?

Been out of town for a week and just catching up on E-mail.
 
I have had leaks from the bottom hose connection of the radiator expansion  
tank on both my old 5000 and 200 Avant.  If memory serves me correct there  is 
a knurled fitting on the plastic nipple and the plastic cracks by it.   Mine 
leaked intermittently, usually after the car was shut off and heating up,  or 
when the tank was very full.
