Inconsistent boost

Phil,
I replaced the turbo bypass hose and it already was re-routed, I did not do any pressure checks as I wanted to make sure everything was tight. I removed all of the major hoses and visually inspected them. The bypass valve is an aftermarket metal unit (Bailey?). I will do as you suggest and presuurize the system. I did not know that the wastegate frequency valave can have an intermittent failure. I read that the altitude sensor can create some of these problems, and I live at 6500 feet.
