Nick,
Engine-wise, I haven't had a lick of trouble with the later EFI equipped 20
valve 3B compared to the earlier CIS models - I have two now. The car is
heavier, less aerodynamic and gets worse gas mileage, but performance
incredible, especially when chipped.
You still need to do the basic maintenance, but I find in general easier to
deal with.
The cars have similar electrical systems, and items like power windows and
seat heaters haven't changed. A few items like dual-exhaust and front brakes
will be a bit more expensive to R/R, so make sure this stuff is in order, or
account for it in the bottom line.
You'll want to subscribe to the 200q20v at audifans.com mail list which is
specifically oriented toward this car which numbered less than 1500 vehicles
AFAIK.
I think these cars are a great value and generally available under $8k though
certainly worth more when compared to a lot of other depreciated vehicles.

Looking at a 91 200 TQ 20v, are these as troublesome as the older type 44
cars like the older 5000k or did they work some of the bugs out? What do I
need to look for before I Buy one?]
