Strut bearing failure? - Type 44

Dave,

Does the sound occur when turning the steering wheel, or occur once wheel
already turned, car moving?

If it's the second I would assume the hub/axle bearing... When driving the
car is there a growl that is accentuated when turning either right or left?
(Hub Bearing)

If the first choice (grinds when turning wheel) it very well may be the
strut bearing.
