All of theType 44 cars, inlcuding the 200 20V's are equipped with a number
of different heat shields, most or all of which are thin aluminum with a
decent gap between the heat source and the sheild, and the heat sheild and
component to be protected - Peter is right, don't trap water, but the thin
aluminum sheild will block loads of heat from sensitive components.  I saw a
history channel show the other night on oil-well firefighters; the preferred
heat shield for men approaching blazing oil well fires was corrugated sheet
metal.  Same concept...
