Kneale, 
No, on the 200-20V the circlip is square wire and therefore must be held
open for the initial motion of joint removal. A blind, feel only, greasy
job. I use the hub retaining bolt as a pusher rather than the recommended
hammer. Toward your initial Q, my ¹90 90Q-20V used a round wire circlip,
over which the hub can be forced with the bolt pusher, without having to
open the clip.
