Removel of glove box?

Was trying to work on my intermittent dash vents (AC on only problem),  Found 
the re circulation flap is always closed, even in "LO" temp setting.   Spring 
was good and box had a bunch of leaves in it.  However it will not  open when 
I turn the AC temp way down and that's usually when I loose my dash  vents.
 
Got frustrated trying to remove the glove box and found the illustration in  
the Bentley useless.  
 
Any know the best way to get the glove box out?
