Kerry:  having just a little bit of boost loss, will be quite a challenge 
finding.
I'd go over the vacuum hoses in the back of the engine first, making sure 
that the long one which runs on top of the EM isn't cracked or frayed.

Cool temps keep the ECU from making full boost.  I get 1.3/4 tops unless I 
let the car warm up, then after fixing the vac lines it was 1.7 easy.  The 
engine temp is the key here and although similar to the MFTS in the limit of boost 
syndrome, the thermostat is a close symptom that when the conditions are right 
(warmed up) the car will perform as intended until the ram air (intot he 
radiator) cools the coolant down if your thermostat is open.....
