ya the 7a does work, we had to put one in my buddies for an emergancy fix. we had no idea if it worked. same gear, same wires, same cap/rotor, must be the same.

Actually, that's incorrect. 7A's have knock sensing ignition too, and
therefore use a single window hall sensor setup.
