Alternator going bad?

Peter:

Did you use a Bosch or other brand brush/regulator pack?

I recommend that BEFORE you replace the alternator, pull the pack and 
check the wear on the brushes.....

One option is finding a local automotive electric shop and having it rebuilt.

My local shop will rebuild the alternator the same day you drop it off.
