Burning Oil???

I've used 10-40 and 20-50 in the past and not seen any difference in 
consumption.  Even tried an oil change cycle with "high-mileage engine" oil. 
  Surpise of surprises, that made no difference either...too bad the 
marketing department didn't catch wind of that.

If I drive under boost all the time, I may also need to replace my clutch a 
little quicker too.

What kind of time commitment does changing stem seals require?  I'd guess at 
least another full day.
