David,

If you are looking for a higher spring rate, stiffer, you must change the
spring. The spring rate does not change with age or use, but the SRH can
change because of a stress relieving process. If you are complaining about
the SRH and the original rate is OK, you can shim the spring (3 different
thicknesses were available from Audi), or a spring shop can extend and
retemper the spring.
