Loose steeri9ng wheel mount

I replaced the ignition switch last year and in doing so I managed to
knock loose the steering column from its mount in the dash. This mount
has a bevel to swedge the steering column in place. The bevel allows the
steering column to travel forward when in an accident collapsing the
steering column. I have tried to use a clamp to swedge the pieces back
together w/o any luck. Has any one had this problem? Or does anyone have
an ideas on how I can get it to stay tight? The steering wheel isn't
going to go anywhere, but I would feel better if I did not have it
rattling a small amount.

Thanks
