CPS issue...maybe

Red hot exhaust manifold makes me thinking of a plugged cat.  Power
fluctuations could have been somewhat realistically relevant to
sensing of temperature problems.

The things that cut the power should have prevented a glowing red cat
in my mind so I'm looking at this from the opposite end, so to speak.
