These I5 engines are bullet proof if kept cool. Running with insufficient
coolant will allow overheat and subsiquent head warpage and head gasket
failure. If caught soon enough, the damage repair will be limited to head
resurfacing and head gasket replacement.
Sounds like you may have had YHUYA and pushed the condition to greater
damage.
