20V Intercooler strapping

Strapping may still be necessary on a 20v. My O.E. intercooler failed when
one of the end caps seperated from the core. I'm not sure if it was boost
related or not but assume it was. Although I do run the car quite hard at
times w/ big turbo and 22psi. My solution...I got an all metal intercooler
w/ welded on end tanks. Bolts right in to stock location, more efficient,
and no more worries. If you are on a stock turbo I'd say no need to strap
whatsoever.
While I was waiting for the new intercooler to be fabbed up I borrowed a
stock intercooler from a close friend. We did strap that one for the couple
months it was in my car. The end tank is angled as previously noted. But if
you fiddle around there is a way to get the strap to hold on there. My first
attempt failed as it slipped off the intercooler. So I went back and
repositioned the strap and it stayed in place after that.
