Alternator ailments resolved

Not true, IMO, Ken.

The regulator is a voltage regulator, not a current regulator. Thus,
under high current demand the system voltage drops and the regulator
responds with the field current required to maintain the set point
voltage, at which the alternator will be providing the current
demand. The only regulator discrepancy is that its temperature
compensation is within the regulator and not at the remote battery
location, but not a serious problem.
