In a similar vein, can somebody remind me which turbo is used on
these cars. I can't remember if it's a K24 or K26. I'm looking at a
swap for newer/fresher model. Also, was it used on any other I5
engines from which it would be plug and play?
Got around to doing some troubleshooting the other day, and not only
do I find the car smokes alot on startup after sitting for a week to
two weeks, but that in that same time frame, quite a bit of oil
accumulates in the lower hose that runs from the turbo outlet to the
intercooler inlet. When I pulled that hose off and got rid of the
oil, didn't have smokey startup.
I also had oil in the "Michelin Man" hose, but agree that is a common
issue.

This may be a dumb question, but is there any trick to removing the UFO
rotors? This is the first UFO brake job for me. I got the inboard pad
off with little trouble, then removed to screw from the rotor; but could
not get the rotor off. Are you just supposed to be able to pull the
rotor off? I haven't had a chance to pick up a Bentley, so I was
following the brake section from www.quattro123.com. It really felt like
I was missing a step. No matter how much I wiggled and pulled, the
rotor did not seem to want to clear the lip of the hub. It also did not
help that I was attempting this from the not really level parking lot of
my apartment complex. If anyone would shed some light on this, I would
greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I believe that too much oil can result in oil in the intake as well.

Sounds like you're referring to the "Michelin Man hose"--connecting
to the outlet of the intercooler. Not sure exactly what you mean by
"fresh" oil; however oil collected in the folds of that hose is a
_very_ common occurance. Although it's alleged to contribute to
eventual hose failure (also very common, so check it carefully), I'd
say not to worry as long as oil consumption is relatively low in
normal driving.

Audi amigos:
Radiator fan appears to have stopped working, and my 200q is getting hot
as a result! Fuse is fine; not sure about the relay. Any other
possibilities? Thanks, Mark
