lost 5th and reverse.

My guess is that a year ago I had a bad transmission mount replaced, that
had been bad for along time. It may have stressed the linkage. Had a rattle
under hard acceleration that I assumed was exhaust. Car has always shifted
fine until I was on the highway one day and went for 5th and kept getting third.
When I stopped I could not get reverse either.

Drove for a day or two like that, if I throw the lever hard I could
occasionally get fifth, no tranny noise but I could feel the linkage binding up.
After the car sat for a few days, I drove it again (got tired of riding the
motorcycle in the rain), and after starting the car it went right into reverse
and fifth. Brought the car to Keith and Chris at Anderson Motor Sports (great
guys) and they replace a linkage fork from a parts car they had on the lot.

Tranny linkage is a bit better feeling than before.

Got by cheep!
