Ahh! 17 MPG is killing me!

This is not working for me.
Just moved, and now commute (no more bike to work)
The wagon is producing 16-17 mpg (manually confirmed against CPU) even with careful driving.  
Any fun and I'm looking at low teens.
No codes, runs great.
Does stink of rich fuel at cold morning starts though.
Most Everything has been replaced at some time in recent  past (<5000 miles), I think, except injectors themselves.  Thinking I need to have them rebuilt?
Better start testing I guess.
More a rant than anything, but if anyone has suggestions, I'm open.
