boost drop

I just went through a few steps that have restored my 1.8 level.

I did cap and rotor, but new plugs helped the most.  Mine were pretty old I
guess.

Then I went boost/vacuum leak hunting.  There are a bunch of hose clamps to
address that are nearly invisible unless you stand on your head in back of
the engine.  There are the couple small ones visible just above/inboard of
the distributor, but that nasty breather hose connects to a bit of a puzzle
that is right behind the back of the head.  A new air filter certainly
helped.

All this got me back to what I remember from my previous 3B though it would
still back off to 1.3 when I shifted after a run toward the high end of the
tach.  And sometimes it would only get up to 1.5 or 1.6.  This has all been
over the last few days. 

Tonight I went back in with some mass air flow sensor cleaner spray and
discovered that when I replaced the air filter, I didn't tighten the clamp
at the inlet to the MAF.  The MAF was kinda dirty as was the 1st inlet
screen.  We'll see how it goes tomorrow.  

I may now feel comfortable chipping the thing, mildly though since it's got
234k on it. ;-)
