A couple of issues to fix

Hi guys, just installed a fuel pump check valve on my Avant. Went strait
forward (or so I thought). Did the job when the tank was near empty. Started
car, all fine and fuel gauge was near empty as when I started. Filled tank
and ran out of gas at 1/4 (80 miles left on computer). I did notice that it
did seem to run along time on 1/4. I presume I screwed up something putting
the sending unit back in, but have no idea what. So before I tear it apart
again, any ideas?

Second, my AC has never been recharged since new, have 220k on the clock.
It works and blows cool air when the outside temp is not to hot, but warm air
when it is hot out. I presume I need a pound or so of R-12. The compressor
kicks off and on, all the other stuff seems OK, (fan on high etc). So before
I open Pandora's box and bring it in for a recharge, I am wondering if I can
wait until next summer or if I will damage something when I use the defrost
during the winter?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
Pete
