The stuff you bought is fine, and, as Bernie said, jumper with separate  
pieces of wire.
 
Funny thing, I did mine a while back, thought I'd done the mother of all IC  
repair jobs, well the dumb thing started acting up again. It's not doing the  
same thing it did, turn signal issues, "OK" display jumbled, now  it's showing 
various displays in the OK window when I know these things  aren't an issue. 
So, when you do yours, reinforce the piss out of everything you  can!
