UFO brake question

I have 225K on my original UFOs and never had any shake problems as
they are dead true. ( Original owner did have UFOs replaced once
under warranty at low mileage.) But I am very gentle with my brakes.
All rotors, even UFOs, will wear true and be better than new, runout
wise, if normalized at a temperature above the highest operating temp
to eliminate warping.

You must put a dial indicator on the rotor surface and quantify your
run out, and the high and low side. The original factory run out is
etched into the hub area of the rotor. You can then cut paper shims
of appropriate thicknesses to go under 3 or 4 of the 5 bolt areas to
get the runout under 0.002“ TIR, the max runout spec. BTDT with
conventional Lancia rotors when I was too cheap to buy new. UFOs are
keyed to their hub by the torque plug, a real plus if not mixed up
side to side. On conventional rotors i always center punch mark the
hub and rotor such that rotors always go back on their respective hub
in the same orientation to retain the zero run out.
