coilpacks again

I've actually been a member of Motorgeek for a few months now. I've acquired nearly 200 posts there haha. So you see, I definitely fit into the extreme gearhead group.

Anyhow, I do plan on taking care of the brakes (yes UFO's still on the car), and also the suspension. I read a little on here before about someone inquiring about coilovers for these cars. I'd like to know what it takes to get a good set to bolt up with no problems. I do plan on doing something like porsche boxster calipers, etc. in the future if that helps...

the big issue now is getting the new SEM setup though.

Some people have suggested switching to a 7A or AAN VC to accomodate the coils better...but they have failed to elaborate thus far on what works with what, etc.

I appreciate the LT1 coil info...this is definitely the kind of thing I was interested in.

The problem with these cars is that there just isn't a big enough community interested in modification (let alone a community in general given the rarity of the cars and just 20vt 5-cyl's in general).

Thanks once again for the replies!

-Chris

You did it right :)

Recently there's been talk of
using LT1 coils on the AAN ('92 to '96 version of the 3B). It's
experimental, but some smart guys are pretty far along with the idea.
They're cheap. Look in the UrS4 forums on Audiworld, you'll probably
find something.

motorgeek.com is a place you'lI want to check out too.

Good luck.

Welcome. Sorry, but there is no such thing as a MINT 200q20v.
You'll find that out soon enough. :)

Go with what worked for you. If it no longer works in this application, accept
the advice of others and spend the money.

Before you boost the engine, though, how are the brakes? Does it still have
the original UFOs? Or did the previous owners downgrade them to the G60s?

How about the suspension? Is it wearing the original 17 year old bushings
and struts/shocks?

And to meet the real crazy make-it-go-fast people, you may want to have a
look at the forum at <http://www.motorgeek.com/>.
