favorite - strut/shock/spring combo?

For a cruiser, I would stick with the stock springs and ride height,  
and add Boge dampers for same. Stock, this car exhibits excessive  
negative front camber, lowered it is intolerable. Work on this. A  
properly loaded strut tower brace helps, keeping camber within -0.5  
deg. and adds considerable lateral stiffness. More + camber involves  
major subframe mods to move lower control arms inboard.
