With the '89-'91 Audis well-established proclivity for seized 
handbrake-cables and rear caliper mechanism, the last thing I'd elect 
(or recommend) to do is a maneuver requiring the handbrake to release 
quickly (unless you've recently refurbished cables and calipers).
