I always use a hex bit on a torque wrench to turn the shaft and hold the nut
with a 22mm box end wrench.

I don't believe anyone has yet mentioned using the 22mm "Offset
Oxygen Sensor Wrench" (Performance Tool #W84008). It is a 3/8" drive
and permits use with Torque wrench --AND also inserting an Allen
wrench. I believe I bought mine at Pep Boys (I don't recall price but
expect something like $10-15).
