You're planning to build up a Cobra, but you're concerned about being able to maintain an S8? What about the S8 is intimidating?

Age. Folks aren't interested in these "old" cars and parts
availability as well as after market support is negligible. seems like the only
interested people are swappers.
I think I've convinced myself to sell my 200 3 times in the past 9 years
and each time I couldn't bring myself to part with the car. There's
little out there that I'm willing to pay money for. My wife works (for now)
at BMW finance and she gets to drive all sorts of (non-M) cars. we are
currently leasing a 3 wagon and will be swapping for an x3 later this week.
Though the z4 and 335 cars are quite nice and fast, I can't justify buying
or leasing one. S8s can be had for $10-13k and it is tempting though the repair
cost and ability to DIY concerns me greatly.
I hope to build a factory five cobra some day so that's even more reason
not to get something else...although I am looking at picking up a lincoln mark 8
as a donor.
The shift linkage on my 200 is acting up again... sigh.
