great points tom.

so, the consensus seems to be my car is running correctly being the wastegate spring is stock and i haven't futzed with the adjustable 034 billet bypass.

i'll wait until shayne gets back in town and we can "play audi" as my wife says ;-)

see ya,
Robby

 With having owned 2 cars with the stage III+ and five years and 70,000 miles of experiences;
The feel is just that; feel. You judge the car on how far your foot moves before the car reacts. I have slowly and methodically changed a few things that make a huge difference in that feel.  The best measure of that is how people new to the car drive it. New drivers now barely get into boost before letting off.
The best gas mileage and drive ability comes from no leaks in the intake tract. Then adding that RS2 manifold really gets things happening earlier. Stock manifolds have just 3 cylinders of exhaust going to drive the turbine wheel. Any aftermarket or rs2 will have 66 percent more gasses flowing to make boost. A huge difference.
The rest of the early boost comes from the big spring in the waste gate and cranking down the screw on top until you get a real 20 pounds of boost. The recirculation valve also needs additional spring pressure. You have to just experiment and compare results. I am currently using a forge backwards. The thing makes strange sounds but works correctly.
The default settings in the motronic take a while to adjust to these changes.
I have gotten the K-24 up to 24 pounds and it really runs terrific. I still have the original clutch, it is designed to slip at 320 ft pounds of torque (It does) and I have dialed things back to under 20 pounds.
Last tank of gas got 25.4 mpg and I did wring it out a couple of times.

hi all,

just curious is this is normal.

I've been running Ian's intended acceleration stage 3+ reflashed ecu on
my 200q20v for a while. the car is fast as heck, but i do notice some turbo lag.

i can't tell how much boost i have as the digital boost guage is dead (i
have a vdo gauge i need to hook up).

from my experience - you start feeling the boost after 2,800 rpms or so - but
you reall don't get pinned back until 4k rpms - it's pretty dramatic
once you hit 4k. the car pulls like a mofo to redline.

stock wastegate spring and an 034 billet bypass.

is this normal behavior with the IA3+? when the car was stock - the boost was
pretty seemless.

thanks,
Robby
