If the rack is leaking it will be from the center, boot area, not the  
valve area. Wash it down so you know for sure. A DIY hi press hose  
will cost about $25. In parts. I have a parts list. These ZF racks  
are bullet proof excepting for the hi pressure rod seal. The R&R is  
the real PITA, rack overhaul is relatively easy. BTDT many times. Let  
me know if you want any details.
