3B pilot bearing removal question

 Ah, destruction, that's not out of the question..........I'll try a sane method or two, then I'm breaking out the Sawzall. I'll report back with method of removal.

 Mine does have a hole in it [I thought about trying to get a screw in it
and thread it in, eventually meeting the crank and forcing it out]. I'm
going to try the grease trick, then go to the puller if that doesn't work.

Very true and in this case it would cupped cause it's on a 3B motor. 
I'd vote for the slide hammer method less mess and all.

The grease trick works as long as the bearing has a hole in the far end. 
Some OEM bearings came formed as a cup without the hole in the end for the
grease to work its way behind the bearing.  Those require a puller.
