Put a cost on the stuff that needs to be done and compare it to the cost  
difference of owning a new car.  
 
Factor in you annual mileage, payments, insurance, safety etc.  Put it  all 
on a spread sheet.
 
Is the VW AWD?
 
Also factor in your Federal national debt footprint and a cost for peace at 
 home!
 
Grand total will probably tell you to buy a new car or a lower mileage,  
cleaner used 200.
 
Or do what I do, keep it and wait to a nice 2002-2003 S6 Avant appears on  
the radar.
