One of my P-cars developed an intermittent cutting out. Turned out to be a
tiny crack in the strip of metal along the top of the rotor. The tech who
found it had to heat the rotor up to get the crack to appear.

Subject: 3B cap replacement
Well my engine bucking continues. Somebody mentioned "good luck" before
when I thought I had it solved. I cockily replied " no luck needed - it's
solved" When will I learn???
Anyway - it has actually gotten worse. Something is not happy.
What say you guys about replacing the dizzy cap but not rotor?
reason I ask is because the special rotor is glued on - and I think I will
definitely have to remove the IM (this is in an urq where it is more crowded
than in a 200) to do a cap and rotor - where as if I just do the cap I might
be able to sneak it in.
Obviously it's worth the effort if you really need to do both....
Thanks-
Brandon
