Clunkers

This raises an interesting problem. The Audi 200 Sedan and Avant are cult cars. There are a few of us who understand them and love the way they drive. I put almost 500,000 miles on a pair of Avants and would hate to see them become part of the "Clunker" group. But then when someone will give me $4500 for the car, what am I to do?

For the 1991 200 Avants, there are probably less than a 100 on the roads today. If because of economic necessity, people were to start trading them in, those that are left would become even rarer with the possibility that the value would rise about the $4500 threshold. So, do we encourage people to trade them in waiting for the value to go up or do we say, "Hell no". Having owned a very rare niche vehicle (1967 BMW 2000 CS) I know the problems that can arise when trying to sell it to an audience that doesn't even know it exists. 

So in the meantime, does anybody have a 1991 200 Avant for sale (cheap)? Or should I just buy mine back. I miss it and it was very nicely setup (lights, wheels, brakes and tuned suspension).

If you think about how it has increased the value of our cars to $4500 (they are rated at 18mpg), has we now
have the option to get that amount for a "tradein", I was thinking Jetta TDI Sportwagen.
Even though I would hate to take my Avant out of circulation that way. BUT...............
