Speedometer not working

My '91 200 20v now has 310,000 miles. I went through the cluster solder
exercise once at about 85,000 miles, squeezed and greased the pin connectors
at about 130,000 miles, and a few years later was faced with doing it again.
I knew the solder traces (jumpers) were good, but the problem was the pin
connectors between the boards. Whatever metal they used to grip the pins was
the wrong stuff. Prior experience had taught that dielectric grease was also
not good enough. So I cut the pins off, I think there are three sets, and
soldered in new wires and miniature Molex in-line connectors which routed to
the edge of the boards so they would fit back in the dash.

I have had zero problems since and I think the Molex fix was at about
180,000 miles.
