Limited yes, that's why people should look at the channel values if
they suspect a sensor is partly working. That said, if a sensor
connection is bad, it'll trip a code. Same for most of the components
the ECU drives.

Of course you would. Every single one is documented with pages on how
to interpret them. The Bentley tells you exactly what to test if a
value is outside a range it gives.
