Yes, and that is the case. The interior is dirty, but it's all there. The
leather is intact, as are the carpets. Needs a headliner. Everything
electrical works, right down to the cruise. The motor just purrs, nice and
smooth, and it pulls nicely. But the body is where this car really shines.
The paint is in VERY good shape. She's getting a high-speed buffing this
weekend, and then she'll be REAL purty. All the body panels are intact and
fit perfectly. It just really looks nice.

 

So, coupled with the good motor.not a bad $400 initial investment. As of
now, I have right at $2000 invested, including the car, and she's is
basically new underneath, right down to the driveshaft.

 

Today we did the left and right front corners (struts, mounts, brake lines,
brakes, tie-rod ends, lower control arms), subframe mounts, and pulled the
driveshaft. Removed the right rear strut assembly.

 

Tomorrow, finish the rears, do the tune-up, flush all the fluids, install
the new e-brake handle, and wait for the driveshaft. Thursday, button her
up, align her, and get her inspected.

Why not?  If everything else is in good condition, expecially cosmetics,
then worth it.  You can get plenty of decent power installing a chip and
good driveability out of them and the interior is pretty much the same.
Also, not to start a thread on this, but they generally get better fuel
economy too.

If the car needs paint, interior and/or engine work, then might be better to
start with a better overall car.
